Sublimation
Sublimation is a printing process that uses heat to transfer dye onto materials like fabric, ceramics, and specially coated surfaces. Unlike traditional printing methods, sublimation embeds the ink directly into the material, rather than simply placing it on the surface. This creates vibrant, long-lasting, and durable prints, especially on polyester fabrics or items with a special sublimation coating.
How Sublimation Works:

Design Preparation:
Your design or logo is printed onto special sublimation transfer paper using sublimation ink. The design must be reversed (mirrored), as it will be transferred onto the item later.

Item Preparation:
The item you want to brand, whether it’s a t-shirt, mug, or other product, needs to be made of polyester or have a special sublimation coating.

Heat Transfer:
The printed transfer paper is placed face down onto the item. A heat press machine is then used to apply heat and pressure, typically around 180-200°C (350-400°F).

Sublimation Process:
As heat is applied, the sublimation ink on the transfer paper turns from a solid state directly into a gas without becoming liquid. This gas penetrates the fibres of the polyester or the coating on the item, embedding the ink.

Cooling:
Once the heat press process is complete, the item is allowed to cool. The ink is now permanently embedded into the material, resulting in a vibrant, high-quality image.

Best for white or light-coloured items, as the dye doesn’t show well on dark surfaces.

Requires specialized equipment and materials, making it more expensive for small quantities.
